Course Description: Assessment-Based Certificate Program in Geriatrics
The AAMA Assessment-based Certificate program in Geriatrics provides comprehensive education in four key clinical topics:
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH, or enlarged prostate)
Stroke
Depression
Advance care planning
This program will expand and advance your knowledge and understanding of these common conditions, focusing specifically on the presentation and management of each in the geriatric patient.
All of the following four courses, and a final assessment test, must be completed to earn the certificate:
Course 1: Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) in Geriatric Patients
Course 2: Cardiovascular Diseases: Stroke in Geriatric Patients
Course 3: Depression in Geriatric Patients
Course 4: Advance Care Planning for Geriatric Patients
A practice exam is included for each course. The final assessment test must be passed with a score of 80% or higher in order to earn the CEU credit. This is a closed book test, with no option for going back into the course once the test has been started.
This Certificate Program has been approved for 16 CEUs G/A/C.
The time allotted for completion of the Certificate Program is 60 days.
